Practical Steps to Living by the Law of Attraction- Reinvent yourself with me in 5 simple steps
64My own plan: Three Weeks to Freedom!!
I have gathered from several sources that it takes about three weeks for our broken brains to overcome the negative thoughts, feeling, and reactions until altering its patterns more automatically, to the point that it is no longer a struggle, to manifest your greatest desires. I am writing now having already embraced the validity of the law of attraction as an undenyable and power force, having stumbled upon The Secret (the movie) on Netflix several weeks ago and researching tirelessly since. I have had enough experience with the irony of getting what you've got enough years in a row (all of them) to be a believer.
Needless to say at this point, my life has been one of great struggle. Not that I am unhappy, or that I do not have many rich gifts in this life. I recognize beauty, and I believe anything is possible. I know we have a power within beyond my reasoning, and yet I have always harbored this latent anger that repeatedly manifests itself thoughout my life, often, and currently, leaving me desperate and penniless.
But that is not my focus today. I understand now that the more I focus on what I lack, I am going to get only more lack. This newfound belief brings with it a new kind of responsibility, and it would be futile for me to continue to hide within my comfortable misery and ignore this invitation to joy knocking just outside my door. Yet my mind remains in constant disarray. I obssess over all the things I am doing wrong with this, then realize that as long as I focus on those things, that is all I will ever get. And it starts again...
I wanted to document the beginning of the three-week journey to which I herein commit. Be-ing overly analyitical and stubborn in my negative routine thought patterns and emotions, I put together a step by step plan I can follow to work towards reinventing myself through manifestation of the law of attraction.
THE PLAN
Daily for the next 21 days (unless I want to continue of course...)
I will practice the following, armed with only my very novice, very new research, my understanding of the law of attraction, and how certain tools have aided me in a quest for reinvention in the past. I invite you to walk with me. Not sure why I am writing a hub for this... I guess it makes me feel more accountable somehow... even if I get no clicks or followers, I am still out there and that is what matters to me.
STEP ONE - My Take on Instructions from The Secret
Following the steps as outlined on The Secret... it is said to follow the following three steps to deliberately manifest your desires through the law of attraction.
- ASK - Upon waking in the morning, get up just ten or fifteen minutes earlier than necessary and either sit upright in bed or get on knees and PRAY. Prayer for me has always been very personal and informal, but I have taken advantage of the power of intention at other times in my life. I have firsthand proof that prayer, or true intention, from a place of humble gratitude yet strong belief, is extremely effective in transforming yourself, a great tool I plan to use in my reinvention.
- BELIEVE - Document my desire and pull it out each morning after prayer/ intention. Write it down again, a million times if I feel so compelled. Hold the paper, study the words, see each letter, focus clear my mind.
- RECEIVE - This will be my daily "act as if" session... see below/ BE THE NEW ME.
***NOTE TO SELF: Don't overobsess the voices that nag from all directions. Just dismiss as soon as you hear... YOU ARE ABLE TO LET THINGS GO NOW***
Harnass your power within...
STEP TWO - "Act as if..."
DAILY: / try to do early at beginning of day but can do before bed if need be... it needs to be done on a daily basis:
ACT AS IF - I have found in past experience that "fakigng it til you make it" actually works... at least, it did for me, more than once, when I made an attempt in earnest. That is what I aim to do these weeks, armed with only my very novice very new raesearch, my understanding of the law of attraction, and how certain tools have aided me in a quest for reinvention in the past. I invite you to walk with me. Not sure why I am writing a hub for this... I guess it makes me feel more accountable somehow... even if I get no clicks or followers, I am still out there and that is what matters to me.
STEP 3: Reflection
At least daily, look at myself in my mirror. While we all have to do this on a daily basis to maintain basic hygeine, my intention here is look into the mirror and see a beautiful woman I accept fully looking back at me. I will need a few mantra's when "seeing" myself differently. Try the following:
- "I love myself today, not like yesterday"..
- "I am beautiful and confident, and the deserving light of life radiates throughout me."
- "I am light and love, deserving of all my desires."
- "I am worthy of happiness and stability. I see a woman who deserves it all"
These are just ideas, and I will makes notes of what works best, or what feels most natural once I start implementing this daily practice.
STEP 4: Adopt an Attitude of Gratitude
Feeling grateful for what I do have, no matter what I have lost, has always increased my job expotentially, depending upon how religiously I maintain a grateful mindset.
On a daily basis, I will write in my GRATITUDE JOURNAL
While this is not a new idea, I am adding my own twist. I will list those things that I already actually HAVE in my life for which I am most grateful, and in between those I already possess, I will include those desires I am intending. By alternating between what I already have and that which I long for, I hope to "confuse" my brain into accepting them all as my reality. I will let you know if it works!
- Attitude of Gratitude
Scientists are finding that an attitude of gratitude is a powerful contributor to a happy life. Some believe that cultivating gratitude may be the single most effective way to increase happiness. Explore the power of gratitude. - Attitude of Gratitude: 5 Tools for Appreciation
STEP 5: Throughout the day reminders...
When I encounter negative thoughts, reactions, and patterns:
- Identify the fact that this is what is happening in my head as soon as possible.
- Give myself credit for simply having identified it. This takes insight and self discipline to have stopped and gotten this far... and it is all about daily progress.
- Redirect my thought; make a better decision. For example, my automatic response to a stressful situation might be to get angry or defensive. Stop there, take a breath, and reevaluate my place in my world. This "problem" will undoubtedly look different when I take a step back, and I can realize with each countered thought, that it is not as insurmountable as it first appeared.
Give me three days...
My first "official" day to implement my own program will be tomorrow, Tuesday, May 17, 2011. Iwill add an update hub over the weekend to document my progress.
Thank you for reading and good luck walking your own path...
